A new journey...

As I transition out of ministry at Huron Park...I am going to take up the challenge of blogging about my journey. If you're interested...follow it....comment on it (speak into my situation).

For all you regular blog checkers....I likely won't be up to daily posting....but it has been almost two years since I have blogged...so I do need a realistic starting point.

the brevity of life

last night I was reminded of how fragile and short life can be. The father of one of our deacons at the church lost his dad suddenly last night. This deacon has no regrets -- which is one of the most amazing things in this story.

He spent regular time with his Dad cultivating the relationship and after one of their regular coffee times together, God took him home. This deacon found his dad still in the parking lot of the coffee shop where they parted ways -- he could not get his car started. Wow. When I think about this story I can immediately pull out of couple of "God stories." 1 - they had one last time together on earth 2 - no one else was injured as a result of this man's passing.

I lost my dad at a young age -- I didn't really have the opportunity to cultivate a deep relationship with him -- these men, father and son, did have the opportunity and they took advantage of it --

value your time and relationship with your father -- you never know how much time you have together.

we have no guarantee of tomorrow.

the world of blogging....

Well, I have in theory resisted the urge to blog, citing the point that it will take too much time to keep up to date and really what could the possible benefit be?

Well, I determined that I have benefitted a great deal from other bloggers, Ken Castor, James MacDonald, Bryan Loritts and other fellow pastor-like people that have been a source of encoruagement and insight for me.

join me...I make no promises as to whether or not you will benefit from this...

Convinced,
Pastor Jordan Grant
